Rosemary as a supplement for horses
Rosemary is a fragrant small shrub that we mostly know from the use of the herb in Mediterranean cuisine. But did you know that rosemary also has beneficial properties? The pointed small leaves of the herb are especially useful. Rosemary naturally contains powerful antioxidants and thus supports the liver, kidneys and the entire digestive system of your horse. In addition, rosemary has a positive effect on the blood circulation.
When to give rosemary to horses?
Rosemary is a versatile herb that horses generally like very much and is also multi-purpose. It can therefore be used to support the health of your horse in various ways. For example, the herb has a soothing effect on the stomach, making it very suitable if you want to support your horse's digestion a little extra. In addition, rosemary has a stimulating effect on the blood circulation. Does your horse (temporarily) get less exercise, for example due to an injury, box rest or the transition from pasture to stable in the autumn? Reduced movement has a negative impact on your horse's blood circulation. To support your horse during these periods, you can give a supplement that stimulates blood circulation. Even when a horse is intensively trained, it can benefit from a herb that stimulates blood circulation to promote recovery.
Support your horse with herbs
Horses in the wild have a varied diet of dozens of different types of grasses, plants, flowers, herbs, branches and even tree bark. Domesticated horses cannot look for herbs and plants themselves and depend on the pasture they are in and the food they are given. However, many herbs and plants are rich in beneficial nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals. You can therefore add herbs to your horse's ration to provide extra support.
