A dressage bar is used in conjunction with a snaffle bit, the so-called bar and snaffle bit. This combination is used in the higher dressage classes. The dressage bar is a jaw piece with leverage. The longer the scissors, the sharper the effect. The dressage bar has long scissors and therefore has a sharper effect than the baby dressage bar. For a bar and snaffle combination, a special bar and snaffle bridle is required or an extra cheek piece. In addition, this jawpiece must always be combined with a curb chain to prevent the bit from swinging. This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.
