Be sure to follow the tumble dry instructions carefully, as wet down can get pretty heavy and needs gentle handling to stay in top shape.

Washing Instructions
For the best results, always wash with Nikwax Down Wash before using Down Proof. No need to dry it first! Just remove any non-washable parts, shake well, and refer to the care label. Here's how to do it:

In the washing machine:

• Remove all soap residue from the soap drawer or use a wash ball.
• Put the clean item in the washing machine (maximum of 1 piece).
• Use 150ml for one item.
• Run a wash program at 30° and spin at a low speed.

By hand:

• Immerse the garment in a bowl of lukewarm water.
• Use 150ml in a basin or 300ml for two items in a bathtub.
• Swirl around, let sit for 5-10 minutes, then swirl again.
• Rinse in cold water until clear. For sleeping bags, drain and gently squeeze out excess water.

Tip: Always use Nikwax Down Wash to maintain water resistance. Steer clear of regular detergents.

Drying Instructions
To get rid of excess water, spin your items multiple times, slowly increasing the speed each time. Nikwax Down Proof doesn’t need heat to work its magic, but tumble drying on a low setting as per the manufacturer’s instructions ensures the down is properly dried. Break up any clumps during drying to restore fluffiness. Before storage, let your down gear air out in a warm, dry spot for at least a day.
