What else do I need for the earth?

You need a separate earth rod for the lightning rod. Please do not use the same earthing rod as for your energizer.

Can the lightning protection device be connected to the same earth pin as the energiser or does it need a separate earthing pin?

The lightning protection must be connected to another earth pin and can not be connected to the same earth pin used for the energiser.
