Trust Pelham Sweet Iron Pony Eliptical 12mm

The pony pelham has been specially developed for ponies. The pelham jaw piece combines the action of a snaffle and a rod and snaffle. The bit has one jaw piece but can be driven with one or two reins. If you choose to ride with one rein, a pelham strap is required to connect the bit rings to the rings of the scissors. The pelham is a lever-action mouthpiece. A pelham bit is mainly used for strong horses, horses with too little space in the mouth for two mouthpieces or horses that have to get used to a bar and bar tack. The double jointed bit has two hinge points, is more shaped to the mouth and is looser in the mouth. This bit acts on the tongue, layers and corners of the mouth. A double jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) humidity that tastes sweet and stimulates the saliva production of the horse in a natural way. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
