Nikwax Leather Cleaner

The safe, easy-to-use cleaner for all waterproof leather clothing, gear and accessories. Leather clothing, equipment and accessories absorb water and become soaked when used in damp or wet conditions and their Durable Water Repellency (DWR) is compromised. When leather absorbs water, tannins and fats are lost. This makes the leather dry, stiff and prone to cracking. Over time, this causes the structure of the leather to fade. In addition, the breathable properties of leather are also affected when it gets wet. This makes leather garments sweaty and wet on the inside due to condensation. Therefore, the DWR of your leather items must be maintained to maintain comfort and performance. During use, dirt will adhere to the outside of leather items, attracting water. This blocks the effect of a long-lasting water repellency (DWR) coating. Nikwax Leather Cleaner™ removes dirt and restores DWR, so your leather items work better and last longer.

Instructions:

Shake well before use. Use according to the instructions on the care label. Wear gloves.

• Remove mud and dirt with a damp cloth or under running water. If necessary, use a nylon brush.
• Lay the wet item flat.
• Keep the bottle at about 15 cm. distance from the item.
• Apply the cleaner evenly to the outside of the item, rub in well, paying special attention to soiled areas.
• Wipe with a damp clean cloth.
• Allow leather clothing, equipment or accessories to dry at room temperature.
• Keep away from fire and radiators. Drying too quickly can cause the leather to crack.

Note: For light/colored leather and soft nubuck/suede, test in an inconspicuous area first.
