What’s in Hartog Extra Care, and why?

Linseed for omega-3 fatty acids. Linseed is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and is known for its beneficial effect on skin and coat. These fatty acids support the natural barrier function of the skin and help keep it supple, even in the case of dry or flaky skin. Fatty acids also play a role in the quality of hoof horn.

Biotin, in an amount that matters. Biotin is a B vitamin that is essential for the quality of hoof horn, skin, mane and tail. At the recommended dosage, a 600 kg horse receives approximately 20 mg of biotin per day with Hartog Extra Care. This is the amount considered effective in research into hoof horn quality.

Organically bound trace elements. Hartog Extra Care contains organically bound zinc, copper and manganese. These trace elements support the action of biotin and play a role in skin condition, a deep coat colour and the growth of strong horn.

Herbal extracts of turmeric, fennel and fenugreek. The herbal extract in Hartog Extra Care does not consist of whole herbs, but of the active compounds isolated from plants: flavonoids, saponins, antioxidants and polyphenols. These are combined in a targeted way so that they complement each other and together support hooves, mane and coat.

Alfalfa as the base. Alfalfa naturally provides more amino acids and fibre than grass. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, and therefore of hair and horn. The alfalfa also gives Hartog Extra Care its natural green colour.
