I use the gel pad...

I use the gel pad under my felt pad. As a result, my western saddle stays in the desired position. A small pad with a big effect, Only the smell takes a bit of getting used to, but it is becoming less and less. It says on the pad that the material is non-toxic, so I accept the smell. Otherwise great!

Pad who does the job. I prefer to use it between the mat and the saddle, rather than the gel on the skin under the carpet. Both are possible.

Should the pad be used directly on the back or between your saddle and saddle pad?

The gel pad has the best effect when it is used directly on the back. However, the pad remains cleaner and you have less friction from the gel against the hair when you place it between the cover and the saddle.

The gel pad stays cleaner and you have less friction from the gel against the hair when you put it between the cover and the saddle. However, the gel pad has the best effect when it is used directly on the back.
