Boehringer Ingelheim Equitop Pronutrin

The active ingredient in Pronutrin is Apolectol, a patented pectin-lecithin-glycerin complex. The pectin portion of Apolectol counteracts gastric acidification by prolonging the postprandial pH increase, inhibiting bile acid reflux, and stabilizing the natural gastric mucus. Simultaneously, the lecithin-glycin portion strengthens the hydrophobic protective layer on the gastric mucosa. In this way, Apolectol offers the mucosa double natural protection. Pronutrin can be administered to horses at increased risk of gastric ulcers. Pronutrin can be administered to horses suffering from gastric ulcers, in addition to management measures and, if indicated, medicinal products.
