Birth Alarm Classic

The Birth Alarm Classic is the first system ever developed by Birth Alarm and has been a trusted solution worldwide for safe foal births since 1992. This model stands out for its simplicity, stability, and complete independence from mobile networks or the internet. The alarm signal is sent via a powerful 433 MHz radio signal to a physical receiver, which you can place, for example, in your house or next to your bed. This keeps the system reliable, even in remote locations or stables with poor coverage.

Detection based on natural lying behavior
When a mare is about to foal, she almost always lies completely flat on her side. The transmitter, mounted on the mare’s withers with an anti-roll girth, detects this specific horizontal position and immediately sends a signal to the receiver.
As soon as the mare lies completely flat, the transmitter starts “transmitting” and the alarm follows within a few seconds.

Three unique modes for maximum precision
The Classic is the only Birth Alarm model with three different modes:

• Normal mode
  Detects the specific foaling position (lying on the side). Alarm within approximately 7 seconds.
• Sleep mode
  Designed for mares that sleep deeply in full side-lying position, which is more common in older mares. The alarm is only triggered when the mare moves out of this position during a contraction, within 2.5 minutes.
• Colic mode
  Essential for mares at risk of colic. The alarm goes off within 1 second when the horse lies completely flat for longer than 2 seconds.

Always works, even without coverage
Because the Classic operates entirely via radio signal, you are completely independent of mobile or Wi-Fi coverage. Ideal for rural areas or if you prefer a system without reliance on networks.

For one to four mares simultaneously
The Birth Alarm Classic is the only model that can be expanded to up to four mares using additional transmitters (one main transmitter with automatic transmitter monitoring + up to three additional transmitters). Perfect for professional breeders or stables.

Simple operation via physical receiver
The receiver has clear buttons and indicator lights for modes and alarms. Resetting is done simply using the switch on the receiver – very user-friendly and intuitive.

The Birth Alarm Classic is recommended for:

• Stables without good mobile or Wi-Fi coverage

Less suitable if you want notifications on your phone or remote monitoring. For that, the Premium, Premium Plus, or Lite 2.0 models are recommended.
