The overseeding and seeding mixture for a healthy horse pasture
VITALstyle Meadow Grass Seed is a blend of various types of grass seeds for a varied and structurally rich horse pasture. This balanced mix of grass seeds is ideal for horses due to its low fructan content. Many horse pastures consist of perennial ryegrass, which has a high fructan content. With Meadow Grass Seed, you ensure a biodiverse and healthy horse pasture. It is suitable for all soil types and is resistant to dry and wet weather conditions.

When to use Meadow Grass Seed?
You can sow Meadow Grass Seed from March to November at an ambient temperature of 15°C - 25°C and a soil temperature of 10°C or higher. You can calculate the soil temperature by adding the night and day temperatures and then dividing by two. The most optimal period is during the months of March, April, May, August, and September. For optimal grass seed germination, the correct soil acidity and sufficient nutrients are essential. Measure the soil pH with the VITALstyle pH Soil Test and lime with VITALstyle Meadow Lime at a pH <5.5. Fertilize with VITALstyle Meadow Manure for optimal results.

Successfully seeding a horse pasture
If you manage your own pasture, you'll recognize this. You want bare patches in the pasture to be nicely reseeded, or when creating a new pasture, you want it to be successfully seeded. The success of the germination of a seeded grass mixture depends not only on the quality of the seeds or the sowing method. It mainly depends on the type and conditions of your soil. The problem is often that the soil conditions in which the grass species must grow are not optimal, resulting in grass germination that is difficult or impossible.

Composition
25% Timothy, 20% Meadow Fescue, 15% Smooth-stalked Meadow Grass, 15% Tall Fescue, 10% Red Fescue, 10% English Ryegrass, 5% Cocksfoot.

WHAT IS IN Meadow Grass Seed?
Timothy: A palatable and winter-hardy grass that is rich in essential amino acids and has a low fructan content. It can withstand cold and wet weather conditions well.
Meadow Fescue: A palatable and winter-hardy grass that can withstand cold and wet weather conditions well. It has a relatively low fructan content.
Smooth-stalked Meadow Grass: A grass that forms a particularly strong sward, making it able to withstand intensive grazing. This grass is also drought tolerant.
Tall Fescue: A very palatable and tender grass with a very low fructan content, but good nutritional value! It grows well in dry and wet soils (even clay soil), requires little water, and is winter hardy.
Red Fescue: A fine, tender grass with a low fructan content and nutritional value. This grass is extremely suitable for any soil type and forms a dense sward. In the event of damage (intensive grazing), the grass has a good recovery capacity and repairs bare patches automatically!
Perennial Ryegrass: A fast-growing and palatable grass with high nutritional value. The Perennial Ryegrass variant in VITALstyle Meadow Grass Seed is "diploid."
Cocktail: A grass with a very low fructan content that germinates, grows, and establishes quickly, which can suppress weeds. This grass species can withstand drought well thanks to its deep rooting.
