A healthy digestive system is essential for digesting and absorbing nutrients from a horse’s feed. The horse’s stomach is located at the beginning of the digestive system and is relatively small compared to other organs. Due to various factors, the stomach lining can become susceptible to the development of gastric ulcers. Therefore, it is recommended to provide extra support to horses that are prone to this.

Synovium Gastrosafe therefore contains:

FOS:
A fructan with prebiotic effects in the body. Adding this fibre to the ration has a positive effect on the gut flora and intestinal function. Research shows that FOS particularly supports gut flora during diet changes or when the horse consumes high levels of sugar.

Magnesium Hydroxide & Calcium Carbonate:
Both act as buffers in the stomach and help neutralise the pH of the gastric juices. This provides a protective effect on the stomach lining and supports horses with gastric ulcers.

Kaolin:
Absorbs excess water in the intestines and therefore provides extra support to horses with abnormal manure.

Threonine:
An essential amino acid often added to support protein synthesis. It also contributes to a healthy intestinal function. Threonine is an important component of mucin, a protective mucus layer in the gut that shields against viruses and bacteria.

Seaweed:
A highly absorbable ingredient rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins. It also provides a strong energy source.
