Vegan, sustainable and unique - "Cortica" snaffle bridle made of cork

Outside of equestrian sports, cork products have long been a sustainable alternative to leather. In equestrian sports, however, they have not yet been widespread. As one of the few equestrian companies, Kavalkade now offers vegan riding accessories made of cork. An environmentally friendly alternative for all vegan horse lovers and horse owners who would like to do without leather. For almost two years the products were developed and thoroughly tested, changed and adapted over and over again. This resulted in the vegan "Cortica" collection, consisting of a bridle, reins, chaps and ankle boots.

The vegan rubberized reins "Cortica" are the perfect addition to the vegan bridle. The end pieces and the martingale stoppers are made of cork. They are 16 mm wide and have five bars on each side.

Cork fabric - the vegan leather
Sustainable & vegan
As the bark of the cork oak, cork is a renewable, biodegradable raw material. The cork oak can live for over 300 years and is peeled by hand about every 12 years in the course of its life. This makes the tree more resilient and ensures long-lasting cork oak forests that protect against soil erosion and bind a multiple amount of CO2 compared to other trees. A large part of the cork oak grows in Portugal, where they represent a very important ecosystem for many rare animals.

Durable & unique
Cork fabric, also known as cork leather, is very tear-resistant, hard-wearing and also water-repellent. The cork panels of the bark are connected to larger panels with an organic adhesive and thinly cut. Then they are put together like a puzzle and attached to a fabric carrier material, sealed and can finally be processed further as cork material. Like leather, every cork fabric is very special and unique.

Easy-care
Cork products are only cared for by gently wiping them with a damp cloth or sponge.
