Horses with a relatively thick or sensitive tongue, or horses that stick their tongue out, often show they need more room in the mouth. A mouthpiece with tongue relief can then contribute to more relaxation and a finer connection between horse and rider. The TRUST Port Medium Eggbutt – Inno Sense combines a stable eggbutt cheekpiece with a mouthpiece that offers extra room for the tongue, creating a comfortable, consistent contact where clarity and comfort go hand in hand.

The mouthpiece – Port Medium
The Port Medium mouthpiece is unjointed and features an anatomically shaped tongue port. This creates extra room for the tongue, reducing pressure on the centre of the tongue and distributing it more across the bars.

For many horses, this shape creates more comfort in the mouth. Horses with a sensitive or relatively thick tongue, or horses that stick their tongue out, in particular often respond well to the extra tongue relief. This can contribute to more relaxation and a more stable connection with the hand.

Within the Inno Sense collection, the Port Medium mouthpiece feels slightly firmer than the Flexi Soft mouthpiece, while thanks to the synthetic material it retains a comfortable, lightly flexible action.

The Port Medium mouthpiece is often chosen for:

• Horses with a sensitive or thick tongue
• Horses that stick their tongue out
• Horses that need extra tongue relief
• Horses that become more comfortable with less pressure on the tongue

The cheekpiece – Eggbutt
The eggbutt cheekpiece is known for its fixed, stable construction. Because the rings don't move freely through the mouthpiece, the bit lies quietly in the mouth and aids are transmitted directly and clearly.

This provides:

• A stable and consistent contact
• Less movement of the mouthpiece
• Clear communication through the rein
• More calm for horses sensitive to a lot of movement in the mouth

The stable position makes the eggbutt cheekpiece a popular choice for horses that find confidence in a calm and predictable connection with the hand.

The material – Inno Sense
Inno Sense is a synthetic material that has been carefully developed and extensively tested. It is free of harmful substances and contains no plasticizers. Compared to traditional metal/steel mouthpieces, Inno Sense feels significantly softer and warmer. Many sensitive horses, horses with a sensitive mouth, or horses with a preference for nonmetal bits respond very positively to it. The material supports relaxation and acceptance, which is essential in the foundation of any training. This creates more length, allowing the horse to more easily seek contact with the hand and creating more calm in the connection.

Suitability
The TRUST Port Medium Eggbutt – Inno Sense is a good choice for horses that need more room for the tongue, combined with a stable position of the bit.

It is a deliberate choice for:

• Horses with a sensitive or thick tongue
• Horses that stick their tongue out
• Sensitive horses
• Horses that benefit from a calm, stable contact
• Combinations working on relaxation, trust, and harmony in the contact

Thanks to the combination of tongue relief, comfort, and stability, this bit suits a wide range of training stages, from early training to sport.

The TRUST Inno Sense Port Medium Eggbutt is currently permitted under KNHS and FEI regulations for dressage, jumping, and eventing.

For specific uses, such as as a bradoon within a double bridle, we always recommend checking the most current national and international competition rules.
