Some horses feel more comfortable without a bit, or respond better to aids given via the nose. In such situations, riding bitless can be a valuable option, provided the system is well fitted and used with feel.

The TRUST Hackamore TP was developed for riders who consciously choose to ride bitless. Thanks to its action via the nose and lower jaw, the Hackamore TP offers clear yet refined communication, while the mouth remains completely free.

The cheekpiece – Hackamore
The Hackamore TP is a bitless system where communication takes place via the nose and lower jaw. When the rein is taken up, the system moves in a controlled way, allowing the action to build up gradually.

Because there is no mouthpiece, the mouth is completely free. This can be a good solution for horses that are sensitive in the mouth or respond better to a bitless option. A hackamore is often chosen for:

• Horses that respond well to a bitless option
• Horses that are sensitive in the mouth
• Jumping and eventing horses
• Variation within training

Correct adjustment of the curb strap is essential. This ensures the hackamore stays stable and the action can build up evenly.

The material
The TRUST Hackamore TP is made from durable materials suitable for intensive daily use. The construction withstands various weather conditions and is designed with reliability and a long lifespan in mind.

Suitability
The TRUST Hackamore TP is suitable for horses that feel comfortable riding bitless or respond better to aids via the nose.

It is a deliberate choice for:

• Horses that are sensitive in the mouth
• Riders who consciously want to ride bitless
• Jumping and eventing combinations
• Variation within training

Because a hackamore works differently from a traditional bit, its use requires correct adjustment and a calm, independent hand.

Use of a hackamore depends on discipline and competition level. Under KNHS and FEI regulations, a hackamore is permitted in certain jumping and eventing classes. For dressage, a hackamore is generally not permitted. Always check the most current national and international competition regulations beforehand.
