Refined contact relies on relaxation, suppleness, and harmony. Some horses feel more comfortable with a bit that gives a bit more freedom of movement in the mouth, allowing them to relax more easily and dare to make more active contact.

The TRUST double-jointed loose ring combines an anatomically shaped mouthpiece with loose rings, creating a supple and refined connection between rider's hand and horse's mouth. Thanks to the combination of the Sweet Iron material and the mobile loose-ring cheekpiece, this bit is particularly suitable for horses that benefit from extra mouth activity and a looser connection in the contact.

The mouthpiece – Double-jointed
The mouthpiece is double-jointed and anatomically shaped to follow the contours of the horse's mouth. This distributes pressure evenly across the tongue, lips, and bars. Many horses find a double-jointed mouthpiece comfortable because it adapts smoothly to the mouth. The two joints provide a refined action and support even communication through the rein.

This type of mouthpiece is particularly suitable for horses that respond well to more tongue contact and a softer, more responsive connection.

The cheekpiece – Loose Ring
The loose-ring cheekpiece has free-moving rings, allowing the mouthpiece to move freely relative to the rings. This mobility gives the bit a lively character and stimulates mouth activity.

This provides:

• More freedom of movement in the contact
• A more playful, looser connection
• Fewer fixed pressure points in the mouth
• More activity in horses that tend to "lock" the bit

Many horses respond well to this freedom of movement, especially those that benefit from a more active mouth feel and a more responsive connection with the hand.

The material – Sweet Iron
This bit is made from Sweet Iron, a material specially developed to support the horse's mouth activity. Contact with moisture creates a natural oxidation process on the bit's surface, releasing a slightly sweet taste that supports salivation and helps promote a supple, relaxed connection with the hand.

Sweet Iron's characteristic blue colour gradually changes to brownish-grey through the oxidation process. This is a normal and desired effect that is part of how the material works.

Suitability
The TRUST double-jointed loose ring is a versatile bit suitable for horses that benefit from extra freedom of movement and mouth activity.

It is a deliberate choice for:

• Horses that benefit from a looser contact
• Horses that tend to lock the bit
• Riders who want to combine refined communication with more mobility
• Horses that respond well to a mobile mouthpiece

For horses that need more calm and stability in the mouth, an eggbutt or baucher may be a better fit.

This bit is designed within the applicable guidelines for competition use. For competitions under FEI rules, always check the most current regulations.
