A horse’s intestines are essential for digesting fibre and converting it into volatile fatty acids, which provide energy. During periods when horses spend more time outside on sand paddocks, it can happen that they consciously or unconsciously ingest sand. If this sand does not pass through the digestive tract, it can accumulate in the intestines, leading to problems.

Synovium Sand-Oil 369 therefore contains:

Psyllium Fibres:
These plant fibres form a gel when they enter the digestive system, stimulating intestinal peristalsis. This allows the horse to pass manure more regularly. The gel also helps remove sand from the intestines, preventing accumulation.

Omega Oils:
These ensure that Psyllium Fibres swell optimally in the digestive system, allowing more sand to be removed than when only Psyllium is added to the diet.

Kaolin:
Absorbs excess water in the intestines and provides extra support for horses with abnormal manure.

Beta-Glucan:
Supports the immune system and helps regulate the release of sugars from the feed, preventing spikes in blood glucose levels.

Horse and pony: For prevention, feed 75 g twice daily for 7 days each month. In case of sand in the intestines, add 150 g daily for 21 days. Divide the daily amount over at least two feedings.

Foal: For prevention, feed 25 g twice daily for 7 days each month. In case of sand in the intestines, add 50 g daily for 21 days. Divide the daily amount over at least two feedings.
