The holes are just big enough to sift the container with wood pellets. In this way we save a lot of grains that we would normally throw away.

It is a handy shovel, easy to use and very easy to clean. The grains fall through nicely.

This shovel is very sturdy and slightly different in shape than the many shovels I've already had. I use eco-tax for my cats that is a bit coarser and the separation of lumps and litter works great. Would I buy again.
