Welltex® - an ‘active’ material for an active life

Did you know that certain minerals can have a therapeutic effect?  

The effect occurs when minerals absorb body heat and then radiate it in the form of long-wave (or ‘distant’) infrared energy - FIR.  

By fusing the minerals into soft and functional fabric, the products can be worn directly on the body - and this allows the minerals to directly exert their therapeutic effects. The fabrics containing the minerals are processed into beautiful Back on Track products. All Back on Track products can provide support for muscles and joints. 

For more than 23 years, Back on Track's fabrics have contained an original, powerful mix of minerals. Our first and undoubtedly most famous textile technology is Welltex®.  

The ‘Back on Track effect’, as we like to call it, refers to the feeling of increased well-being that often results from wearing items containing Welltex®.  

An innovative textile technology  

Both humans and animals constantly emit FIR. This type of energy is invisible to the naked eye, but can be detected using a thermal camera, which is used for night vision and heat detection, among other things.  

The minerals incorporated in our fabrics can harness the wearer's body heat. In other words, Welltex® technology allows our products to absorb FIR and then radiate it. This makes the materials in our products ‘active’ and gives them the ‘Back on Track Effect’.

Far-infrared energy seems to have particularly beneficial effects on biological tissues and is known to stimulate blood flow. In addition, FIR is often seen as a means to relieve stiffness and discomfort in muscles and joints, optimise performance and support recovery. 

A multitude of applications - for humans, horses and dogs

Back on Track may have started as a company dedicated to relieving human ailments. But since then we have developed into a company offering a wide range of products aimed at animals, especially horses and dogs.

We have found that Welltex® is also of great benefit to animals, who often suffer from the same problems as we do. Back on Track products are therefore often used to relieve conditions such as osteoarthritis, discomfort or stiffness in joints, overuse of muscles, strains, swelling and inflammation.  

Improved circulation is one of the explanations for the positive effect of Welltex® on such conditions. Good blood circulation ensures more efficient transport of oxygen, nutrients and waste products, thus supporting the body's own healing processes.

To make the effect more accessible, we have incorporated Welltex® into a wide range of versatile products, all with different material properties and applications.  

The minerals are responsible for the FIR effect - however, the minerals do not retain heat, do not warm products or provide insulation. Such properties depend solely on the choice of material. Our functional fabrics are chosen based on the desired properties of the final product, such as breathability, stretchability, elasticity, warmth, softness, moisture-wicking, durability, thickness and stability.  

Design gives additional properties to the product, such as shape, anatomical fit and comfort for the wearer. We always strive to make our products practical and easy to use in everyday life.
