DIY: How to make your horse a birthday treat!

Happy birthday! Or is it your horse's birthday and do you want to treat him or her to a delicious treat? Then make this cake especially for your horse!

What do you need?

400 grams of (horse) muesli
100 grams of honey
2 winter carrots
4 normal carrots
1 apple

Other essentials:

1 large bowl for mixing
1 bowl for the grated carrot
1 large spoon for stirring
1 (plastic) plate to put the horse cake on
grater or food processor
a peeler

Method:

1. Wash the carrots. Peel the winter carrots with the peeler and grate them in the food processor or with the grater.
2. Wash the apple. Halve the apple, remove the core and cut the apple into wedges. There is no need to peel the apples.
3. Put the granola in the bowl and pour in the honey. Add half of the grated carrot. Stir the mixture well with the spoon.
4. Scoop the mixture out of the bowl, put it on the plate and shape it into a nice cake. Use your hands (nice and sticky!) or a spoon to do this.
5. Stick the apple segments around the cake and sprinkle the other half of the grated carrot on top of the cake as a decoration.
6. Finally, stick the small carrots at the top of the cake, these are the ‘candles’ and done! You can now feed the horse cake to your horse. Feast on it!

Variation tip: use slices of pear or banana instead of apple.
